On the Maldives' northernmost islands, one can see old historical sites that tell about the country's past.The beautiful uninhabited island of Matheerah in Haa Alifu Atoll, residing next to previously populated Hathifushi, has one such heritage dubbed ‘Matheerahfulhu’.

Interesting tales surround the island, including how it transformed from a sandbank to an island and how taking vows at its heritage site has supposedly made fishing abundant for the islanders.For avid fisherman Mohamed Saajin, these stoories propelled him to find out more about the island.

އެ ރަށު ކައުންސިލްގެ ރައީސް އަބްދުއްރަހުމާން ސޮބީހު މިއަދު ވިދާޅުވި ގޮތުގައި ފުލުހުން ބޭނުންވާ ގިނަ ބައެއްގެ ފިންގަޕްރިންޓް މިހާރު އަންނަނީ ނަގަމުންނެވެ. އެކި އުމުރުފުރާތަކަށް ބަހާލައިގެން ފިންގަޕްރިންޓާއި ޑީއެންއޭ ސާމްޕަލް ނަގަނީ އެއްވެސް މީހަކާ މެދު ތުހުމަތެއް އޮވެގެން ނޫން ކަމަށާއި ތަހުގީގުގެ ބޭނުމަށް ކަން ވެސް ރައްޔިތުންނަށް އަންގާފައިވާނެ ކަމަށް ވިދާޅުވި އެވެ.

"މޮރިޝަސް އިނގިރޭސިވިލާތުގެ އަތްދަށުގައި އޮތްއިރު ޗާގޯސް މޮރިޝަސްގެ ތެރެއިން އިނގިރޭސިން ވަކިކުރި. އޭގެ ފަހުން 1967 ގައި މޮރިޝަސް އަށް މިނިވަންކަން ލިބިގެން ދިޔައީ. އެ ހިސާބުން ފެށިގެން ވެސް މޮރިޝަސް އިން ޗާގޯސްގެ މައްޗަށް މިލްކުވެރިކަން އޮތްކަމަށް [ބާރު އޮތް ކަމަށް އެ ގައުމުން] ވަކާލާތު ކުރަމުން ގެންދިޔަ. އެހެން ގޮސް, 2017 ވަނަ އަހަރު މި މައްސަލަ މޮރިޝަސް އިން އދ. އަށް ހުށަހެޅި. އަދި އެ މައްސަލައާ ގުޅިގެން އދ. ގެ ޖެނެރަލް އެސެމްލީން ވަނީ މައްސަލަ އައިސޭޖީ އަށް ހުށަހަޅަން ނިންމައިފައި. އައިސީޖޭ އިން ދިނީ ގާނޫނީ ލަފައެއް ދިން އެއީ މޮރިޝަސްގެ ބައެއް ކަމަށް."
